The team members will have been selected based on their familiarity with the Kaizen area, or based on their enthusiasm and creativity. It is not necessary that all team members work in the Kaizen area, and in fact it is highly recommended that approximately half of the participants come from other areas. If possible, some team members could be from customers or suppliers, especially if the Kaizen event affects their areas. In general we look for team members who are open to, and even have a passion for, improvement and change. “Cement Heads”, i.e. people with fixed opinions or individuals who are not open to change, don’t make good team members.
