Where do most of your critical processes fall?
What is your opportunity for cost savings if you improve your process maturity? What is the opportunity for quality and on-time delivery?
If your company was currently achieving a 10% net profit before taxes, a 10% cost savings would double your profit before taxes.
We are also interested in our level of process maturity because this will dictate what types of activities we will work on during a Kaizen event. Processes with a low level of maturity will not be good candidates for flow/pull methods, or “Quick Response Office Cells”, until they get to at least level 3 of process maturity. Attempting to make improvements in a process without getting to this level is an invitation for backsliding, i.e. low sustainability.
