Team leaders need to have previous experience as a co-leader, and to have participated on prior Kaizen events. He/she should already have a good idea of what will be expected. However, if you are just starting out on the Kaizen journey you may not have this level of experience in the organization. This is one of the principle reasons why it is recommended to have an outside consultant work with you until you are able to build this level of lean maturity in your organization.
