Stay at the 10,000m level at first. Gather data ahead of time. Include a 5S Survey as a part of the Kaizen event Do a complete job of brainstorming possible improvements Don’t try to do too much in one event. Better to do it completely. Start working on the Report-Out early.

These are some general reminders regarding the running of a Kaizen event. Note that the scope of an event tends to grow the more you drill down into the details of a process. It is better to be conservative regarding what you intend to accomplish, rather than try to do too much and end up not completing very much.
