Team members will be dedicated to the event Team needs should be automatically met All break-out room materials should be available In general: minimize the amount of time spent in the break-out room. Most of the time should be spent in the Kaizen area

Team members will be expected to participate 100% of the time, without interruptions, cell phone calls, or running back and forth between the event and their regular jobs.

The breakout rooms for the teams should also be provided for, with refreshments and rest room facilities. The flip charts, white boards, markers, etc. will be used here. However, the Team Leader should ensure that the vast majority of the time of the Kaizen is spent on the factory floor itself.

“Production is done on the shop floor, not in the planning office. The workers spend their time working in the shop. The shop floor is where good things happen. Kaizen is about doing. Do something first, then analyze it, then do it again only better. Learn from doing.”
